The Tuesday and Wednesday performances of The Ten Commandments have been canceled to allow for more rehearsal time to implement changes in the show, according to the producers.

"[As with] any new show, our creative team is continuing to work and we've decided that it will be to our advantage to play six performances a week while we have our cast in rehearsal during the day in order to makes changes," producer Charles Cohen stated.

BCBGMaxAzria Entertainment (founded by fashion designer Max Azria and Charles Cohen) and 7Art present the show, which began previews at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood Sept. 21 and opened Sept. 27 to lackluster critical response.

Following its Los Angeles debut, The Ten Commandments is expected to tour to major venues in North America with a possible stop at Radio City Music Hall. The capitalization is reportedly in the range of $10-$15 million.

Val Kilmer, known for his roles in the films "The Doors" and "Top Gun," plays Moses opposite Kevin Earley (Thoroughly Modern Millie) as Ramses, Lauren Kennedy (Side Show) as Nefertari and Ipale as Seti. The principal cast will also include Adam Lambert as Josue, Alisan Porter as Miriam, Nita Whitaker as Ziporrah, Luba Mason as Bithia, Michele Pereira as Yokebed and Nicholas Rodriguez as Aaron.

The Ten Commandments features music by film composer Patrick Leonard and lyrics by Maribeth Derry. Pascal Obispo penned the original score.

Robert Iscove (Peter Pan with Sandy Duncan) directs the grand-scale musical with the original Paris staging's director, French film auteur Elie Chouraqui ("Harrison's Flowers") — who founded 7Art. The design feature sets by Giantito Burchiellaro and costumes by Azria.

The new weekly performance schedule will include Thursday and Friday evenings at 8 PM, Saturdays at 2 and 8 PM, as well as Sunday at 2 and 7 PM. No evening performance is scheduled for Oct. 31.
