I Am My Own Wife, the Tony Award-winning play at the Lyceum Theatre, went dark Oct. 12 and will stay that way for both performances Oct. 13. Jefferson Mays, its singular Tony-winning actor, has taken ill.

It was not known at press time if Mays, who plays dozens of characters in the Doug Wright play, would be well enough to return Oct. 14. He was thought to have food poisoning.

The solo play about Charlotte von Mahlsdorf, a German transvestite who survived the Nazis and the communists will ends its Broadway run Oct. 31 and be followed by regional engagements (Goodman Theatre, Geffen Playhouse).

The production began life at Off-Broadway's Playwrights Horizons, before transferring to Broadway. It was developed in regional theatres (About Face Theatre) and in not-for-profit programs (Sundance Theatre Lab). Moises Kaufman directs.

For refunds or exchanges, ticket holders should go to their point of purchase. The Lyceum Theatre is located at 149 West 45th Street. For more information visit www.iammyownwife.com.
