Brad Anderson and Montego Glover in Aida
|
Aida, which recently ended its lengthy Broadway run, will be presented at the North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly, MA, Oct. 26-Nov. 21.
Montego Glover, recently seen as Lorrell in the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera's production of Dreamgirls, stars in the title role with Brad Anderson — of The Boy From Oz fame — as her love interest, Radames. Former Seussical star Janine LaManna completes the love triangle as Amneris, and John Schiappa, recently seen on Broadway in Assassins, is Zoser.
The foursome are joined by a company that includes Derrick Baskin, James Bodge, J. Bernard Calloway, Edward M. Barker, Lori Ann Ferreri, Marie France Arcilla, Mindy Haywood, John Hoffman, David Gilleo, David Garcia, Michelle Mamolejo, Darius Nichols, Krystle Pyram, John Schiappa, Q. Smith, Cullen Titmas and Todd Underwood. The production also features five local young actors: Breanna Bradlee (Lynn), Tory Bradlee (Lynn), Nicholas Christopher (Winchester), Joshua David Fales (Middleton) and Jaclyn Sabogal (Peabody).
The North Shore is one of the first regional theatres in the country granted the rights to produce the Disney hit, which ended its run at Broadway's Palace Theatre Sept. 5. Directed by Stafford Arima with choreography by Patricia Wilcox, Aida is a "completely original production of the [recent] Broadway show."
The creative team for the Massachusetts production comprises Patricia Wilcox (choreography), Andrew Graham (music director), Bill Stabile (scenic designer), Randall Klein (costume designer), Kirk Bookman (lighting designer), Gerard Kelly (wig and hair designer), John A. Stone (sound designer), Erik E. Hedblom (production stage manager) and Matt Schreiber (casting).
Aida features a score by Elton John and Tim Rice and a book by Linda Woolverton, Robert Falls and David Henry Hwang.
The North Shore Music Theatre is located in Beverly, MA at 62 Dunham Road. Call (978) 232-7200 for more information or visit the theatre on line at www.nsmt.org.
