Tina Louise Joins Starry Reading of Dear George to Benefit Actors' Fund

Stage and screen actress Tina Louise has joined the star-studded cast who will take part in two readings of Dear George: Letters to the President to benefit the Actors' Fund of America.
Louise joins the previously announced Rue McClanahan, Rex Reed, Margo Martindale and Rachel York for the Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 events. Directed by Jonathan Znidarsic, the 7 PM evenings will be held at Broadway's Culture Project.
Dear George, according to production notes, consists of "dramatized excerpts of more than 1,500 open letters written to President George W. Bush between Memorial and Labor days." Created by Marcus Woollen, the piece will be performed in 40 theatres throughout the nation prior to Election Day.
In a statement creator Woollen sad, "What was fascinating in turning these letters into a theatrical piece is that the letters, as written, are far more substantive and issue-driven than anything seen so far in this year's campaign — at the same time, there's a lot of humor from both sides of the political aisle."
Tina Louise has been seen on Broadway in Two's Company, John Murray Anderson's Almanac, Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter, Li'l Abner and Fade Out — Fade In. Perhaps best known for her work on the television sitcom "Gilligan's Island," Louise's many other screen credits include "Going Down in Brooklyn," "Little Pieces," "Welcome to Woop Woop," "All My Children," "Johnny Suede," "Dixie Lanes," "Rituals," "Advice to the Lovelorn," "Dallas," "Mean Dog Blues," "The Kentucky Fried Movie," "SST: Death Flight," "Look What's Happened to Rosemary's Baby," "The Stepford Wives," "The Happy Ending," "Armored Command" and "For Those Who Think Young."
