Belters Evening — with Ripley, Harriell and McDonald — to Celebrate Bill Russell

Side Show star Alice Ripley will be joined by Marcy Harriell and David McDonald for two evenings at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre devoted to the work of Bill Russell.



On Dec. 13 and 20 the three performers will offer Belters We Have Heard on High at the downtown cabaret space. Show time is 7 PM. Russell, who wrote the book and lyrics for Side Show, also penned the book and lyrics for Off-Broadway's Angels, Punks and Ranging Queens and Pageant. His other book/lyric credits include Lucky Duck, Kept, Fourtune, The Texas Chainsaw Musical and Family Style.

Alice Ripley has appeared on Broadway in Side Show,The Rocky Horror Show, James Joyce's The Dead, Sunset Boulevard, The Who's Tommy, Les Misérables and in the City Center Encores! production of Li'l Abner. She has recently been seen in Ken Ludwig's Shakespeare in Hollywood, The Fabulous Invalid and Off-Broadway in Five Flights. Ripley's non-show recordings include two discs with Side Show co-star Emily Skinner — "Duets" and "Unsuspecting Hearts" — and a recording of her own compositions, "Everything's Fine." The singer-actress also heads her own rock band, RIPLEY.

Marcy Harriell was seen in the Kennedy Center production of Company and appeared on Broadway in Jonathan Larson's Rent. Her other theatrical credits include Little Fish and Lucky Duck. The actress was also seen on NBC's "Ed."

David McDonald's Broadway credits include Side Show and Les Misérables. Off-Broadway he appeared in Forbidden Broadway and Lucky Duck, and television audiences have seen his work on ABC's "All My Children."
