Brooke Shields, who has given new life to the Broadway revival of Wonderful Town, may be headed to London.

Fox News reports that Wonderful Town producers Barry and Fran Weissler have offered Shields the chance to play Roxie Hart in the West End production of Chicago. The news service says that Shields has accepted the role and will make her London stage bow in the spring.

Brooke Shields is back on Broadway in the revival of Wonderful Town, playing aspiring writer Ruth Sherwood. On Broadway Shields has also been seen in Grease! and Cabaret, and her Off-Broadway credits include The Vagina Monologues and The Exonerated. On screen Shields has been seen in “Pretty Baby,” “Endless Love,” “The Weekend,” “The Bachelor” and “King of the Gypsies.” She won an American Comedy Award for a guest appearance on “Friends,” which led to her hit series “Suddenly Susan.”

The West End company of Chicago — at the Adelphi Theatre — currently stars Michael French as Billy Flynn, Josefina Gabrielle as Roxie Hart, Paul Baker as Amos Hart, Anna-Jane Casey as Velma Kelly and Sharon D. Clarke as Mama Morton.
