Joe Mantello — who helped Roundabout earn five Tony Awards last season with his staging of Assassins — directs the work set to begin previews at the Royale Theatre April 8 toward a May 1 opening.
Roundabout is the latest addition to the Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel and JAM Theatricals production which recently added Philip Lacerte, Boyett/Haber, Ronald Frankel, Zen Dog Productions and Santulli/Weisbord.
The non-profit will invite their subscribers — who also recently saw the postponement of Fool For Love from this season's lineup — to see the Glengarry Glen Ross from April 8-May 15.
The starry cast includes Alan Alda (QED, "M*A*S*H") as Shelly Levene, Jeffrey Tambor (Sly Fox,"Arrested Development") as George Aaronow, Liev Schreiber (Henry V, "Scream") as Richard Roma, Gordon Clapp ("NYPD Blue," "Moonlight Mile") as Dave Moss, Tom Wopat (Annie Get Your Gun, "The Dukes of Hazzard") as James Lingk and Frederick Weller (Take Me Out, "The Shape of Things") as John Williamson.
The design team of Glengarry Glen Ross will feature Santo Loquasto (sets), Laura Bauer (costumes) and Kenneth Posner (lighting). Producing the revival will be
Mamet will also see his new play Romance staged Off-Broadway at the Atlantic Theatre Company — which he co-founded with actor William H. Macy. The scribe has also penned Speed the-Plow, American Buffalo, Oleanna, Cryptogram, The Old Neighborhood, Boston Marriage and Sexual Perversity in Chicago. His screenplays include "State and Main," "The Spanish Prisoner" and "Heist."
