Shuler Hensley, who won a Tony Award for his performance as Jud Fry in the most recent revival of Oklahoma!, will play opposite Patti LuPone in the upcoming mounting of Regina at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

The official Kennedy Center website says Hensley will portray Horace in the March production of the Marc Blitzstein musical. Hensley joins the previously announced Tim Noble (Ben), Timothy Nolen (Oscar), Marietta Simpson (Addie), Sheryl Woods (Birdie) and Elmore James (Cal). Lonny Price directs the March 10-12 semi-staged concerts.

Regina, with music and libretto by Marc Blitzstein, is based on Lillian Hellman's The Little Foxes. The original production played the 46th Street Theatre Oct. 1949-Dec. 1949. The company included Lillyn Brown as Addie, Donald Clarke as Marshall, Clarise Crawford as Belle, Priscilla Gillette as Alexandra Giddens, Brenda Lewis as Birdie Hubbard, George Lipton as Ben Hubbard, Russell Nype as Leo Hubbard, Jane Pickens as Regina Giddens, Lee Sweetland as Manders, David Thomas as Oscar Hubbard, Peggy Turnley as Ethelinda, William Warfield as Cal and William Wilderman as Horace Giddens.

Shuler Hensley won a Tony Award for his work as Jud Fry, a role he created on the London stage to Olivier Award-winning effect, in the most recent Broadway revival of Oklahoma!. His other theatrical credits include Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and The Most Happy Fella. Hensley's numerous screen credits include "Van Helsing," "Ed," "Deadline," "Gary Powers," "Monday Night Mayhem," "Sabrina," "Someone Like You" and "The Bread My Sweet."

Tickets for Regina are now on sale. Visit www.kennedy-center.org for more information.
