Constance Towers, who starred opposite Yul Brynner in the 1977 revival of The King and I, will take part in a benefit reading of The Current Mrs. Harrison next month.

The Feb. 26 reading of Jefferson Charles Beeker's play will benefit the 68 Cent Crew Theatre Company in Los Angeles, CA. The 1 PM performance will also feature the talents of "General Hospital" stars Leslie Charleson, Denise Alexander and Jacqueline Zeman. Angela Pupello will read the stage directions.

The Current Mrs. Harrison, according to production notes, is set "in the spring of 1968. Martin Luther King has just been shot, there is major unrest in the streets of many American cities, and a war rages in Southeast Asia. Against this backdrop three southern sisters get together for a visit in their old childhood home. Their solitude and family time is turned on its side when their newest sister-in-law, a Yankee from Vermont, makes a surprise appearance and causes revelations that threaten to tear the family apart."

Constance Towers has appeared on Broadway in Anya, The Engagement Baby, Ari and The King and I. Her other theatrical credits include roles in The Sound of Music, 42nd Street, Oklahoma!, Camelot, Mame and Kiss Me, Kate. The recipient of the Outer Critics Circle Award for Excellence in the Theatre and the American Academy of the Dramatic Arts Achievement Award, Towers' TV credits include "L.A. Law," "Designing Women," "General Hospital" and "The Tonight Show."

Tickets for The Current Mrs. Harrison are priced $25. Call (323) 466-6922 for reservations. Visit www.68centcrew.com for more information.
