Pieces to Close Off-Broadway March 27

By Robert Simonson
21 Mar 2005

The Off-Broadway run of Pieces (of Ass) will shutter on March 27, it was announced.

The work, which previously played at the China Club and Theatre 80, began Dec. 8 and opened at Dodger Stages Dec. 10. New Scenario Entertainment produces with Brian Howie, Thomas Hanna, and Paul Bordé.

Conceived and directed by Brian Howie, Pieces (of Ass) features original monologues which center on the topic of being an attractive woman. The work delves into "the perks and the privileges to the problems and the pressures," as described in a release. The evening usually is presented with a number of actresses and one special guest celebrity.

Next up in the work, a number of television celebs will fill that role for short stints. They include former Cabaret star and recent "Playboy" model actress-singer Deborah Gibson (March 22-24) and "The Tony Danza Show" co-host and former "The Apprentice" candidate Ereka Vetrini (March 25-27).

The design team of Pieces includes Pete Zumba (set), Daniel Ordower (lighting), David Gilman (sound) with music design by John Hanna and Danny Walsh. Baby Phat provides costumes, jewelry is provided by Vermillion and MAC handles makeup.

Brooke Burke ("Wild On E!"), Trishelle Cannatella (MTV's "Real World"), Kirsten Buschbacher (ABC's "The Bachelor"), Carol Grow (FHM's "100 Most Beautiful Women"), Lori Heuring ("Mulholland Drive,” "The In-Crowd"), Jamie-Lynn DiScala ("The Sopranos") and Jenna Morasca ("Survivor") have previously been among the "CenterPIECEs".

For more information on Pieces (of Ass) at Dodger Stages, 340 West 50th Street (between Eighth and Ninth Ave.), may be purchased by calling (212) 868-4444 or online at www.piecesofass.com.
