PHOTO CALL: Never Ending Bee: Musical is Preserved With Cast Recording

By Morgan Allen
10 Apr 2005

The cast and creative team of the new musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, a hit at Second Stage that is transferring to Broadway, were in the recording studio on April 5 to lay down tracks for the original cast recording of the show.

Written by William Finn (Falsettos) and Rachel Sheinkin, from a concept by Rebecca Feldman, and directed by James Lapine, Spelling Bee is a unique and interactive piece of theatre about growing up and maturity told through the context of a spelling bee.

Below, the cast pauses for a photo during their recording session at Avatar Studios on West 53rd Street in New York City. Spelling Bee is set to have its opening night at Broadway’s Circle in the Square on May 2, with previews from April 15.
