Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Could Be Answer in Question Form as Albee Appears on "Jeopardy!"

By Ernio Hernandez
11 Apr 2005

What's "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?"? could be a mind-jarring answer when three-time Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Edward Albee becomes a category on the quiz show "Jeopardy!," April 12.

The April 12 episode will feature the playwright himself delivering a variety of "clues" about his works in his own category.

A revival of Albee's work Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? currently plays on Broadway with Kathleen Turner and Bill Irwin. Among Albee's other works are The American Dream, Tiny Alice, A Delicate Balance, All Over, Seascape, The Lady From Dubuque, The Man Who Had Three Arms, Finding the Sun, Marriage Play, Three Tall Women, Fragments, The Lorca Play, The Play About the Baby, The Goat or Who Is Sylvia?, Zoo Story and Homelife.

The popular game show, "Jeopardy!," airs in the New York area on ABC at 7 PM (ET). Check your local listings.

"Jeopardy!" has used many Broadway and theatre-related subjects as categories as of late. In the past, the "Clue Crew" from the hit TV show visited Broadway productions to tape a series of clues and answers concerning various musicals.

Created by Merv Griffin and hosted by Alex Trebek, "Jeopardy!" won 24 Emmy Awards since its debut in 1984. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television. For more information, visit www.jeopardy.com.
