Michael McKean, most recently on Broadway in Hairspray, and his wife, actress Annette O'Toole, will make their Feinstein's at the Regency cabaret debut May 24-June 7.
Entitled An Evening with Michael McKean & Annette O'Toole: No Standards, the duo will offer many of their original songs, including the Oscar-nominated "A Kiss at the End of the Rainbow" from the hit film "A Mighty Wind."
"Our show at Feinstein's," McKean said in a statement, "will be like coming to our home for a party." "Except that we'll be wearing makeup," O'Toole added. Cabaretgoers can expect to hear tunes from "A Mighty Wind," "Spinal Tap" as well as songs from the couple's upcoming musical. Song titles include "Potato's in the Paddy Wagon" and "Banjo Daddy."
Michael McKean played Edna Turnblad in the Broadway production of Hairspray. Perhaps best known for his work on "Laverne & Shirley," the actor's other screen credits include "Spinal Tap," "Waiting for Guffman," "Best in Show" and "A Mighty Wind." He also recently appeared Off-Broadway in Woody Allen's A Second-Hand Memory. Annette O'Toole has been seen on screen in "Smile," "48 Hrs.," "The Kennedys of Massachusetts," "Nash Bridges" and "Smallville." She is a former dancer.
