Live Schreiber, a Tony winner for his performance in Glengarry Glen Ross and one of the most prominent American Shakespearean actors, said the next play by the Bard he would like to tackle is Macbeth.
"Like every actor, I’d like to play Macbeth," he said. "Unfortunately, I hear someone making a film of
Macbeth right now. Every time I want to do a Shakespeare, someone jinxes it by making a film of it."
Schreiber has done all his most prominent Shakespeare work with the Public Theatre, playing Hamlet, Henry IV and Iago in Othello with the company. Very likely, his next role will also be at the Public.
"I’ll be going down to the New York Shakespeare Festival and talking to Oskar Eustis," he said.
