Bernadette Peters and Mandy Patinkin, who were Tony-nominated for their performances in the original production of Sunday in the Park with George, will reunite June 9 at the Barnes & Noble bookstore in Union Square.

The Tony-winning duo will be on hand to promote the new book "Dewey Doo-It Helps Owlie Fly Again," which has just been released by RandallFraser Publishing. Peters and Patinkin can be heard on the nine-song recording that accompanies the children's book, which is loosely based on the late Christopher Reeve's struggles with his physical disabilities. "Dewey meets a little owl in a wheelchair who can no longer fly," a book description states. "Can the helpful Doo-its use ingenuity and creativity to help the little owl learn to fly again? Can they Doo-it?"

The CD also features narration by Dana Reeve, the late actor's widow. Dewey books, according to the Dewey Doo-it website, "teach kids the value and importance of helping others. He nurtures in each child the qualities of selflessness, kindness and compassion."

"Dewey Doo-It Helps Owlie Fly Again" was written by Brahm Wenger and Alan Green and features illustrations by Jean Gillmore. The hardcover tome has a retail price of $18.95.

Barnes & Noble is located in Union Square at 33 East 17th Street. The June 9 event is set for 7 PM.

Mandy Patinkin won a Tony Award for his role as Che in the Broadway mounting of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's Evita. His theatrical work includes roles in The Wild Party, Sunday in the Park with George, The Secret Garden and The Knife. An Emmy Award winner for his work on "Chicago Hope," his other screen credits include "Yentl," "Ragtime," "Dick Tracy," "Broken Glass," "Life with Mikey" and "The Princess Bride." Patinkin's latest solo recording, "Mandy Patinkin Sings Sondheim," is available on the Nonesuch label.
