Off-Broadway's Atlantic Theater Company will stage Harold Pinter's The Room and Celebration in its 2005-06 season, according to a casting notice.

The company founded by William H. Macy and David Mamet is known for its acting ensemble and its commitment to contemporary work. Woody Allen and David Mamet both had premieres in the season that is now ending. Tom Donaghy's new adaptation of The Cherry Orchard is currently playing the company's Chelsea mainstage in Manhattan.

Atlantic artistic director Neil Pepe will direct the double-bill of Pinter, according to the notice. The plays run Nov. 9-Jan. 1, 2006.

Casting information also indicates that Rolin Jones' The Intelligent Design of Jenny Chow will open the Atlantic season Aug. 31-Oct. 23.

Among the new play's characters is Asian-American Jennifer Marcus, "an agoraphobic engineering genius," adopted at six months. "She builds a robot to go on a quest to find her birth parents," according to the announcement. The cyborg looks like her, but is played by another actress.

No official announcement of the season's bill has been made by Atlantic.
