Catherine Zuber, who won a 2005 Tony Award for Best Costume Design of a Musical for her work on The Light in the Piazza, will design the costumes for Brooks' In My Life. And, Christopher Akerlind, who also received a Tony Award for his The Light in the Piazza work, will design the lights for the upcoming musical, which features direction by Brooks and choreography by Richard Stafford.
Zuber's other credits include Dinner at Eight, Twelfth Night, Ivanov, Little Women, Doubt, Frozen, Dracula, The Sound of Music and Triumph of Love. Among Akerlind's numerous lighting credits are The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, Seven Guitars, The Piano Lesson and Philadelphia, Here I Come!
Allen Moyer, whose Broadway credits include Twelve Angry Men, Reckless, The Man Who Had All the Luck and A Thousand Clowns, will design the sets for In My Life, which begins previews Sept. 27 with an official opening set for Oct. 20.
Joe Brooks won an Academy Award, a Golden Globe and an ASCAP Award for the song "You Light Up My Life." He has also composed for such films as "Jeremy," "The Lords of Flatbush," "If Ever I See You Again," "Headin' for Broadway" and "Invitation to the Wedding."
The Music Box Theatre is located at 239 West 45th Street. In My Life will play Tuesday-Saturday evenings at 8 PM, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2 PM and Sundays at 3 PM. Tickets, priced $26.25-$101.25, are available by calling (212) 239-6200.
