In the new play by the author of Fuddy Meers, Wonder of the World and Kimberly Akimbo (all produced by MTC), Nixon will play the wife in a couple that faces the loss of a child. Tony Award nominee Nixon (Indiscretions) was once mentioned to star in an MTC staging of Talley's Folly, but that play has since been dropped from the 2005-06 season. Her involvement with Rabbit Hole was officially announced July 5.
Daniel Sullivan, who turned help turn Proof into gold for MTC, will direct the Lindsay-Abaire play at the Biltmore Theatre, MTC's Broadway home.
Rabbit Hole will open Feb. 2, 2006. Previews begin Jan. 12.
Nixon won a 2004 Emmy Award for Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her performance as Miranda Hobbes on HBO's "Sex and the City." Rabbit Hole marks her first Broadway appearance since The Women in 2001. This will be the Broadway debut of Lindsay-Abaire.
