The New Bohemia, a murder mystery musical that revolves around the history of burlesque in New York City, will be one of the many new musicals to take part in the New York International Fringe Festival, Aug. 12-28.

Inspired by characters of Gotham's subterranean speakeasies, expect to attend the tale of streetwise singers, delicious divas, and sumptuous showgirls all wrapped up in a singing and dancing murder mystery.
The show promises to present a chilling portrait of New York in years to come, reminiscent of bad old Berlin, gay Paris, burlesque of yesterday. (Just imagine if Cabaret and The Mystery of Edwin Drood were combined, with a Fringe Festival on top.)
The team of writers and composers includes Patrick Bonomo, Shelly Watson, Rima Fand, and Miguel Weissman. Dennis Hinson directs.
New Bohemia plays at the Village Theatre, 158 Bleecker Street. Tickets are $15. Call 212-279-4488 or visit www.fringenyc.org(http://www.fringenyc.org/) for ticket and schedule information.
