Todd Robbins Brings Dark Deceptions to the Fringe

By Matt Windman
13 Aug 2005

Todd Robbins, creator of the Off-Broadway show/sideshow Carnival Knowledge, will premiere Dark Deceptions: The Seance Experience, at the New York International Fringe Festival Aug. 13-24.

Promising to make people afraid of the dark, Todd intends to create the illusion that the head have returned to walk among the living. In a 75 minute performance using spiritual trickery, Todd will present what sitters in a nineteenth century seance would have collectively experienced.

Todd Robbins prides himself on being "the world's foremost purveyor of reality at its most amazing." He often appears on television while eating glass, hammering a nail into his nose, spitting out a ball of fire, walking over broken glass with his bare feet, swallowing swords, and sticking his hand into an animal trap.

The show plays at the Players Theatre, 115 MacDougal Street. Tickets are $15. Call 212-279-4488 or visit http://www.fringenyc.org/ for ticket and schedule information.
