Beauty and the Beast has won the 2005 Broadway Show League softball championship, beating three-time victors The Producers.

Beast routed the Producers squad by a score of 13 to 3 Aug. 25 at Central Park's Heckscher Softball Fields.

The two productions went head to head last year as well, with the Mel Brooks show besting the Disney basemen in two successive games, first winning 9-8 and then, more decisively, 20-5.

This year's championship matchup was preceded by a game to determine who would face Beauty and the Beast. That game was between the Producers crew and All Shook Up's boys (and girls) of summer, with the former winning 6-3.
