Across town, Marian Seldes will give curtain speeches at Terrence McNally's Dedication or The Stuff of Dreams at Primary Stages at 59E59 Theatres. The cast and crew will be taking donations beginning with the Sept. 2 performance and through next weekend with proceeds going to the American Red Cross Disaster Fund.
Downtown artists are also uniting for a NY LOVES NOLA Marathon Hurricane Disaster Benefit slated for Sept. 18. A minimum $25 donation will go to the American Red Cross. With a Cajun buffet provided in the Acme Bar & Grill restaurant upstairs, attendees will enjoy a seven-hour marathon performance in the Ace of Clubs downstairs.
Performances at the event ranging from rock, musical theatre, pop and cabaret to comedy, drag, performance art and more will be contributed by Charles Busch (Taboo), John Cameron Mitchell (Hedwig and the Angry Inch), Melissa Rauch (The Miss Education of Jenna Bush), the casts of Joy, NYMF's Rooms and FringeNYC's Fleet Week: The Musical as well as Kevin Aviance, Penny Arcade, Madame, Scott Nevins, Creation Nation, Lisa Jackson, Meat, the Duelling Bankheads, Da Lypstixx, David Gurland, Xavier, Karen Mack, Elephant Larry and many more artists signing up daily.
