Playwright Sarah Schulman and director Trip Cullman, who are collaborating on Playwrights Horizons' upcoming Manic Flight Reaction, will appear 7 PM Oct. 6 to discuss the new work.
In the Center Voices series at The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Center, 208 W. 13th Street in Manhattan, playwright-novelist Schulman (
Carson McCullers, "Rat Bohemia") and director Cullman (
Swimming in the Shallows, The Last Sunday in June) discuss the new "razor-edged comedy about abandonment, the intrusive mass-market media, and the need for faith in goodness, despite the odds."
According to PH, "the play centers on a middle-aged professor who must confront the demons of her idealistic past when her daughter learns of a past liaison with the wife of a presidential candidate."
Playwrights Horizons will present Manic Flight Reaction Oct. 20-Nov. 13.
Admission for the hourlong talk is $6 for Center Members, $10 non-members.
