A terrorist-stricken America is seen in the world premiere of Eric Alter's The War at Dawn, beginning performances Off-Broadway Oct. 11, at the Beckman Theatre Space at the American Theatre of Actors.
"Battered by attacks (including a nuclear explosion) inside its borders, America of 2010 is locked in a struggle to survive," according to production notes. "On the eve of being shipped out god-knows-where to do god-knows-what, two young soldiers, (one a draftee the other a gung-ho enlistee), stumble into a very private war where it's not a case of winning the battle, but rather simply surviving it."
The Off-Off-Broadway cast includes Miguel Emir, Morgan Parker, Hayden Roush and Sonia Tatninov.
Tickets are $16-$20. The ATA is at 314 W. 54th Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenues. Opening night is Oct. 12. The performance schedule is Tuesday-Thursday at 7:30 PM, Friday and Saturday at 8 PM, Sunday at 2 PM.
