According to a Macy's spokesperson, cast members from Sweet Charity, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Jersey Boys will perform on the program. Sweet Charity will offer "I'm a Brass Band," Dirty Rotten Scoundrels will perform "Great Big Stuff," the company of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will sing "Toot Sweet" and Jersey Boys will present a medley of "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You," "Walk Like a Man" and "Who Loves You."
Tony Award winners Tommy Tune and Kristin Chenoweth will also be featured during the annual telecast. Tune will be seen on Animal Planet's "Animal Wonders" float, performing "Talk to the Animals" from Doctor Dolittle. Chenoweth will be part of the "Oklahoma Rising" float, singing the title song from Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma!
As previously announced, the parade will also include members of the theatre-oriented Camp Broadway. The chorus of boys and girls, ages 9 to 13, will perform "We Give Thanks Today," a song written specially for the parade by Broadway composer Andrew Lippa (You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, The Wild Party) and lyricist Bill Schermerhorn, who is vice-president and creative director of Macy's Annual Events.
The 79th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is set for Thursday, November 24 from 9 AM-noon. Broadcast nationally on NBC-TV, the Broadway shows are scheduled to perform during the first hour of the telecast.
