Spamalot's Ramirez Lands Role on TV's "Grey's Anatomy"

| photo by Aubrey Reuben | Sara Ramirez, who won a Tony Award for her work as the Lady of the Lake in the hit new musical Spamalot, will begin filming a recurring role on "Grey's Anatomy" in January 2006.
Variety reports that Ramirez will be featured as a surgeon on seven episodes of the ABC-TV medical drama. Air dates have yet to be announced.
Ramirez, as previously announced, is scheduled to depart the Tony-winning Spamalot Dec. 18. Lauren Kennedy will replace her as the Lady of the Lake.
Sara Ramirez received Tony and Outer Critics Circle awards as well as a Drama League citation for her work in Spamalot, and she has also appeared on Broadway in A Class Act, Fascinating Rhythm and The Capeman. Her screen credits include “Hotel Project," "Baseball Wives," "NYPD Blue,” “Law & Order: SVU,” “Third Watch,” “Star Patrol,” “Spin City,” “As the World Turns," "Going Under," "Spiderman," "Washington Heights" and "You've Got Mail."
