Mamma Mia!'s Pawk, as previously reported, is taking a leave of absence from the hit musical due to bruised vocal cords. She is expected to return to the ABBAfest Feb. 8.
The Jan. 9 Three Loud Chicks concert at Birdland will feature McCartney as well as Avenue Q's Ann Harada and All Shook Up's Leah Hocking. The 7 PM evening, according to press notes, will feature the three women rattling "the rafters in an evening of song, stories, and unbridled mayhem."
Liz McCartney starred on Broadway in Taboo, Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera and the short-lived musical Dance of the Vampires. She also spent nearly two years in the Boston production of Nunsense, and her regional credits include Paint Your Wagon, The Rocky Horror Show and Fifty Million Frenchmen.
Birdland is located in Manhattan at 315 West 44th Street. Cover charge is $35. For reservations call (212) 581-3080 or visit www.instantseats.com/birdland.
