Christine Jorgensen Reveals, about the life of America’s first famous transsexual, will play a limited engagement at Dodger Stages beginning Dec. 29.
George Jorgensen, who once said, “My only answer is that I am more of a woman than a man,” traveled from New York to Denmark in 1952 to undergo a sex-change operation. When he returned to the States as Christine, Jorgensen was the subject of much curiosity and controversy.
The creative team comprises Mary Ping (costume design), Jason P. Hayes (wig design), Wilson Chin (scenic design), Josh Bradford (lighting design), Rob Kaplowitz (sound design), Kevin Frech (video/production design) and Jung Griffin (prop design).
Christine Jorgensen Reveals will play Thursday-Saturday evenings at 8 PM at Dodger Stages, Stage 5, located at 340 West 50th Street. Tickets, priced $25-$40, are available by calling (212) 239-6200 or by visiting www.telecharge.com.
