Avenue Q, the little musical that won the Tony Award for Best Musical in 2004, continues its triumphant run at the John Golden Theatre. The show played its 1000th performance on Dec. 22.
Featuring an eclectic mix of profane puppets and hilarious humans, Avenue Q brings a unique combination of bawdy humor and touching emotion to the stage each night to tell the story of the lives of its outer-outer-borough residents.
Below, the current cast celebrates the 1000th performance of Avenue Q with a cake backstage before the evening performance at the Golden Theatre on West 45th Street in New York City.
