Euan Morton, who was recently seen in the Berkeley production of Tony Kushner and Maurice Sendak's New York-bound operas Brundibar and Comedy on the Bridge, will perform a solo concert at the Signature Theatre in February.

The former Taboo star will play the Virginia theatre's cabaret space Feb. 20 at 7 and 9 PM. The singing actor is expected to perform Broadway standards as well as tunes from his forthcoming solo debut CD, "New Clear."

About his debut solo recording, Morton writes on his official website, "The band are in the studio, working on some changes to the arrangements and when I get home in the New Year I join the boys in the studio to get the final tracks laid, ready for vocals in late January. . . . I'm also in discussions with a couple of New York locations for the release of the album, which I would like to do in conjunction with a series of concerts in mid March."

Euan Morton received an Olivier Award nomination for his performance in the London company of Taboo. His other theatre credits include Caligula, We Will Rock You, The Silent Treatment, The Matchstalk Man, The Sexual Life of the Camel, Empty Plate in the Café du Grand Boeuf and Approaching Zanzibar as well as the Actors' Fund of America's Hair concert. Taboo marked Morton's Broadway debut.

Tickets for Morton's Signature Theatre concerts are priced $30 (advance) and $35 (at the door). The Signature Theatre is located at 3806 South Four Mile Run Drive, Arlington, VA. For more information, visit www.signature theatre.org.
