Fanny Hill to Offer Post-Show Discussions Feb. 4 and 11

By Andrew Gans
03 Feb 2006

Fanny Hill, the new Ed Dixon musical that recently began performances at the York Theatre Company, will offer post-show discussions following the 2:30 PM matinees on Feb. 4 and 11.

The Feb. 4 chat will feature members of the cast and creative team of the new musical. Scheduled to take part in the discussion are creator Dixon, director James Brennan and actors Nancy Anderson, Emily Skinner and Tony Yazbeck.

The Feb. 11 chat will be hosted by Seth Rudetsky and will feature a panel to be announced shortly.

Fanny Hill, which features musical direction by Stan Tucker, will officially open Feb. 14; the limited engagement is set to play through March 26.

The Fanny Hill cast comprises Nancy Anderson, Patti Allison, David Cromwell, Michael J. Farina, Gina Ferrall, Adam Monley, Emily Skinner, Christianne Tisdale and Tony Yazbeck. The creative team includes Michael Bottari and Ronald Case (scenic and costume design) and Phil Monat (lighting design).

Fanny Hill is based on the John Cleland novel and, according to press notes, is "the story of a beautiful but poor country girl who travels to London to make her fortune and ends up making a great deal more. . . the army, the navy and most of Parliament! In the face of big city trials and tribulations, our indefatigable heroine ends up giving new meaning to the expression 'making it' when she becomes the foremost practitioner of the world's oldest profession."

The York Theatre Company is located in St. Peter's Theatre, just east of Lexington Avenue on East 54th Street. Tickets, priced $45 (previews) and $55 (Feb. 14-March 26), are available by calling (212) 868-4444 or by visiting www.smarttix.com. For more information go to www.yorktheatre.org.
