"Roseanne"'s Laurie Metcalf to Star in Pot Mom

Laurie Metcalf, the Chicago Steppenwolf Theatre Company member best known for her role as Jackie on the hit sitcom "Roseanne," will portray Michelle in the Third Stage Company's upcoming production of Pot Mom.

Metcalf previously played the role in the 1994 premiere of Justin Tanner's play. The upcoming production is scheduled to begin performances Feb. 17 and will also feature the talents of Ellen Ratner, Todd Lowe and Victoria Prescott. Playwright Tanner will direct.

Pot Mom, according to press notes, "deals with a drug dealing suburban mom trying to keep her household together."

The Third Stage season will also include two other Tanner plays: Oklahomo!, which opens in April, and a June mounting of Space Therapy.
