Marie Jones' one-person play, A Night in November, will return to Off-Broadway March 14, playing a run at the Irish Arts Center.
This time around Tim Byron Owen will direct Marty Maguire in the role of Kenneth McAllister, an East Belfast Protestant (the region is primarily Catholic), who is transformed by his own bigotry. The play takes place on the night of the 1994 World Cup soccer game between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland—an event which profoundly changes McCallister.
Maguire has played the part at the Celtic Arts Center and Falcon Theatre in Los Angeles, The Tricycle Theatre in London, The Gilded Balloon in Edinburgh and the Gaiety Theatre and Liberty Hall in Dublin.
Irish Arts Center presents the production in association with Georganne Aldrich Heller.
Ticket prices range $35-$40 and are available by calling SmartTix at (212) 868-4444 or www.smarttix.com.
