Delta Burke will make her Los Angeles stage debut in Del Shores' Southern Baptist Sissies as part of a season-long celebration of the scribe at the Zephyr Theatre.

Part of "A Season of Shores," the revival currently runs in repertory with Shores' Sordid Lives at the California venue. Shores directs his works. Burke will appear for four weeks starting March 29.

Burke — known to television audiences for her turn in "Designing Woman" — has recently been on the Broadway boards in Steel Magnolias and Thoroughly Modern Millie. She joins a cast (replacing Rosemary Alexander) that includes Newell Alexander, Gary Ballard, Anthony Cherry, Emerson Collins, Rich Delia, Ted Detwiler, Dale Dickey, Dave Kirkpatrick, T. Ashanti Mozelle, David Ojalvo, Scott Presley, Chris Pudlo, Joe Patrick Ward, Terry Brannon, Bill Durham, Tim Rettley and Ann Walker.

Joe Patrick Ward serves as musical director for the production and Anthony Cherry handles choreography. The design team features Kathi O'Donohue (lighting) and Craig Taggart (costumes). Craig Taggart is the production stage manager.

The "Season of Shores" features revivals of all six Shores plays. In addition to the two aforementioned works, the series also includes Cheatin, Daddy's Dyin… Who’s Got the Will?, Daughters of the Lone Star State and The Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife.

Tickets to Southern Baptist Sissies at the Zephyr Theatre, 7456 Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, CA are available by calling toll-free at (800) 595-4TIX (4849). For further information, visit www.seasonofshores.com.
