Playwright Neil LaBute Chats at Makor May 14

Makor, a program of the 92nd Street Y, offers An Evening with Neil LaBute May 14.

The evening with the prolific playwright is scheduled for 7 PM. LaBute will read excerpts from his work and will also discuss his upcoming Off-Broadway production.

LaBute's Some Girl(s) is scheduled to begin performances at the Lucille Lortel Theatre May 17. Eric McCormack, Fran Drescher, Judy Reyes, Brooke Smith and Maura Tierney will star under the direction of Jo Bonney. The limited engagement will play through July 8.

Playwright LaBute, recently represented Off-Broadway with Fat Pig and This Is How It Goes, is known for his gritty dramas, which include The Mercy Seat, The Shape of Things and bash: latter-day plays. His films include "In the Company of Men," "Your Friends and Neighbors" and "Nurse Betty."
