Satellites, the new play by Diana Son, whose Stop Kiss was previously embraced at the Public, begins previews at the same theatre on May 30.

The Brooklyn-set play, directed by Michael Greif, features Kevin Carroll (Public's Take Me Out, Stop Kiss), Johanna Day (Tony Award nominee for Proof), Ron Cephas Jones (Public's Richard III), Satya Lee (Off-Broadway's Tokyo Can Can 2), Sandra Oh (Stop Kiss, "Grey's Anatomy") and Clarke Thorell (Hairspray).

The official opening at the Public's Martinson Theater is June 18.

According to the Public, "New parents Nina and Miles [played by Sandra Oh and Kevin Carroll], an interracial couple, move into a transforming neighborhood in Brooklyn. They have a new house, a new baby, and only one of them has a job. Old friends and new strangers come into their lives, testing their instincts on who to trust and why. Hilarious and heart-rending complications ensue around questions of parenting, racial identity, community and the way we live now…"

Satellites was commissioned by The Public Theater. In 2004, it was presented in "New Work Now!," The Public's nationally recognized annual series that showcases new work from emerging and established artists. The world premiere is part of The Public's 50th anniversary season.

The creative team includes scenic designer Mark Wendland, costume designer Miranda Hoffman, lighting designer Kenneth Posner, sound designer Walter Trarbach and Tony Smolenski IV, and original music by Michael Friedman.

Satellites will play Tuesday at 7 PM, Wednesday through Saturday at 8 PM, Saturday and Sunday at 2 PM and Sunday at 7 PM. There will be no performance 2 PM June 3. There will be post-show discussions on June 7 and June 27.

Tickets are $50 and are on sale now at The Public Theater box office, 425 Lafayette Street; online at www.publictheater.org; and via Telecharge.com at (212) 239-6200.
