By Kenneth Jones
25 May 2006

Broadway's Tony Award-nominated The Lieutenant of Inishmore will be featured on National Public Radio's "Studio 360" the weekend of May 27.

The program airs around the country. In New York City, it will be heard on WNYC 93.9-FM at 10 AM Saturday May 27, and WNYC 820-AM 7 PM Sunday May 28.

The segment can also be heard online at www.studio360.org or www.wnyc.org. Host Kurt Anderson talks with Inishmore director Wilson Milam, who discusses the dark, gory comedy about merciless Irish terrorists and the fools in their community.

Martin McDonagh's play has received five 2006 Tony Award nominations:  Best Play, Best Direction of a Play – Wilson Milam, Best Actor in a Play – David Wilmot, Best Featured Actor in a Play – Domhnall Gleeson, Best Featured Actress in a Play – Alison Pill.  McDonagh, won a 2006 Village Voice Obie Award, one of Off -Broadway's highest honors.  Wilmot, Gleeson and Pill are all making their Broadway debuts with Inishmore, now playing at the Lyceum Theatre.

The cast features Jeff Binder as James, Andrew Connolly as Christy, Dashiell Eaves as Joey, Peter Gerety as Donny, Domhnall Gleeson as Davey, Brian d'Arcy James as Brendan, Alison Pill as Mairead and David Wilmot as the title character, Padraic, who has a soft spot in his heart for his pussycast, Wee Thomas. The sudden, suspicious death of the cat is what spins the plot.
