Sharon Lawrence will play Reno Sweeney in the Williamstown Theatre Festival revival of Cole Porter's Anything Goes, and Emmy Rossum has been cast as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, it was announced.

Lawrence is best known for her television roles in "NYPD Blue" and "Desperate Housewives." On stage, she has appeared in Broadway's Chicago and Off-Broadway's Tongue of a Bird.

A new production of Cole Porter's Anything Goes will feature Malcolm Gets as Evelyn, Matt Cavenaugh as Billy Crocker, Nikki Renee Daniels as Hope, Catherine Brunell as Bonnie, Remy Auberjonois as Moonface Martin, Tom Bloom as Elijah Whitney, Sandra Shipley as Mrs. Harcourt, and Paul O'Brien as Captain. The show will play the Main Stage July 5-16. Roger Rees will direct.

Rossum is best known to theatre audiences through her film role of Christine in "The Phantom of the Opera." Other movies include "Poseiden" and "Mystic River."

Will Frears will pilot Romeo and Juliet, Aug. 2-13, with Bill Camp as Friar Laurence, Kristine Nielsen as the Nurse, Daniel Oreskes as Capulet, Paul O'Brien as Montague, Sandra Shipley as Lady Montague and Remy Auberjonois as Tybalt.

As previously announced, Kerry Butler (Hairspray) and David Burtka will star in the East Coast premiere of the new musical The Opposite of Sex at the Williamstown Theatre Festival.

The two actors will repeat the roles they played in the San Francisco premiere of the work in fall 2004. The musical, by Douglas J. Cohen and Robert Jess Roth, is based on the film of the same name by Don Roos. It follows the conniving 16-year-old Dedee Truitt (Butler) as she moves in with her now-wealthy, gay half-brother Bill and ends up pregnant by his new boyfriend Matt (Burtka). Roth directs on the Nikos Stage. Dates are Aug. 9-20.

Sweet Bird of Youth, the next Main Stage attraction, will run July 19-30. David Jones will direct. The cast will include Derek Cecil as Chance Wayne, Ted Koch as George Scudder, Beth Fowler as Aunt Nonnie and Betsy Aidem as Miss Lucy.
