A Night with Janis Joplin, which had been scheduled to open April 10 at the Gramercy Theatre following its Broadway engagement, has postponed its reopening indefinitely due to production issues, according to a production spokesperson.
"Refunds will be available for all ticket holders at point of purchase," according to a press statement. "Further information will be released when available."
Mary Bridget Davies, who was acclaimed for her work in the title role on Broadway, had been scheduled to reprise her role as the late rock singer.
A Night with Janis Joplin is described as "a musical journey celebrating Janis and her biggest musical influences—icons like Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Odetta, Nina Simone and Bessie Smith, who inspired one of rock & roll’s greatest legends."
Written and directed by Randy Johnson, the musical is produced by Michael Cohl, Todd Gershwin and Daniel Chilewich, in association with The Estate of Janis Joplin and Jeffrey Jampol for JAM, Inc.
