Barrington Stage Company, under the leadership of artistic director Julianne Boyd and managing director Tristan Wilson, presents Chaim Potok's The Chosen, adapted and directed by Aaron Posner, beginning July 18 at the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage in Pittsfield, MA.
Emmy-winning television and film star Richard Schiff, known for his work on "The West Wing," stars as Reb Saunders. The Chosen, according to BSC, "tells the much-beloved story of two boys, two fathers, and two very different Jewish communities in Williamsburg, Brooklyn."
The Chosen will officially open July 21 for a run through Aug. 3.
Director Posner is currently represented Off-Broadway with the Outer Critics Circle Award-winning play My Name Is Asher Lev and is also the winner of this year's John Gassner Playwriting Award.

Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
