Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth (Promises, Promises; Wicked; You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown) will star in the new drama "Good Christian Belles," based on Kim Gatlin's book, "Good Christian Bitches," set to air in ABC's mid-season. The cast will also include Annie Potts (God of Carnage), Leslie Bibb (The 24 Hour Plays) and Mark Deklin (The Lion King) and will follow "Amanda Vaughn (Bibb), once the ultimate high school 'mean girl,' [who] is forced to return home in disgrace after her marriage ends in scandal," according to press notes. Chenoweth will play the role of Carlene Cockburn.
Tony Award winner Dan Fogler (The 25th Annual Putman County Spelling Bee) will star in "Man Up," set to air this fall on Tuesday nights at 8:30 PM ET. Fogler will play Kenny, one of the three modern men who, according to press notes, "try to get in touch with their inner tough guys and redefine what it means to be a 'real man'" in the half-hour comedy.
Ashley Judd (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Picnic) stars in "Missing," which will air in the networks' mid-season. In the drama, press notes state, "Becca Winstone (Judd) learns that her son, Michael, disappears while studying abroad, and it’s a race against time when she travels to Europe to track him down."
Christina Ricci (Time Stands Still) will be seen in "Pan Am," which is set to air this fall in the Sunday at 10 PM ET time slot. The series is set in the 1960s when "air travel represents the height of luxury and Pan Am is the biggest name in the business." Ricci will play Maggie, a rebellious bohemian who turns into a buttoned-up professional for work so she can see the world.
Kate Reinders (Wicked, Good Vibrations, Gypsy) will be seen in the mid-season comedy "Work It." According to press notes, the series "centers on two unrepentant guy’s guys who, unable to find work, dress as women to get jobs as pharmaceutical reps."
"Last Man Standing" will air this fall on Tuesday nights at 8 PM ET. Tim Allen ("Home Improvement") heads a cast that includes stage actors Nancy Travis (I'm Not Rappaport), Molly Ephraim (Fiddler on the Roof, Into the Woods) and Hector Elizondo (The Price, Sly Fox, Dance of Death). The comedy is described as such: "It's a woman’s world, and this man’s man (Allen) is on a mission to get men back to their rightful place in society."
"Scandal," also slotted for mid-season, stars Kerry Washington (Race), Tony Goldwyn (Promises, Promises) and Jeff Perry (August: Osage County, The Grapes of Wrath). The drama comes from the creator and executive producers of “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Private Practice” and, according to press notes, "revolve[s] around the life and work of a professional crisis manager and her dysfunctional staff."
Other new shows on ABC include "Charlie's Angels," starring Ramon Rodriguez (The 24 Hour Plays) as Bosley; "Once Upon a Time," featuring Jennifer Morrison (The Miracle Worker) and Raphael Sbarge (Voices in the Dark, Ah, Wilderness!); "Revenge," including Henry Czerny (Arms and the Man) and Connor Paolo (The Full Monty); and "The River" with Joel Anderson (The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas) and Eloise Mumford (Speed the Plow).
