All Love Is Equal, a recital to benefit Broadway Impact — the organization of theatre artists and fans mobilized in support of marriage equality — will be offered Jan. 20 at 7 PM at The Kaufman Center.
"Though same-sex marriage has been legalized in many parts of the country, there are still over thirty states that do not recognize it," said producer Stacey Tavor Merwin in a statement. "Our journey is not complete until all fifty states recognize same-sex marriage."
Performers include Casey Erin Clark, Bill Coyne, Stacey Tavor Merwin, Crystal Mosser, Marcy Richardson, Christopher Ritz-Totten, Jeremy Ritz-Totten and Ryan Speakman.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
