The evening includes members of the original Broadway "Pit Crew" for Hardbody, including musical director Matt Gallagher on piano, Skip Krevens on pedal steel, Shannon Ford on drums and Skip Ward on bass.
The Tony Award-nominated score, written by Green and Phish frontman Trey Anastasio, featured blues, folk, gospel and R&B music. The album, which was released Aug. 27, features a cut song from the show called “The Tryers” as a special bonus track.
Inspired by the 1997 documentary of the same name about a group of Texans competing for a pickup truck, the musical began previews at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre Feb. 23 prior to a March 21 opening. The show played its last performance April 13.
