Andrew Lloyd Webber Musical Now and Forever Will Get World Premiere at Marriott in IL; Poppins Also Flies

The Marriott Theatre, the popular Chicago-area theatre known for musicals, will present Disney's Mary Poppins in fall 2013, marking the apparent beginning of regional licensing for the Broadway, London and touring hit. A new revue of composer Andrew Lloyd Webber songs will premiere, too.
Based on the P.L. Travers books and the Disney film, Mary Poppins will play Marriott Oct. 23, 2013-Jan. 5, 2014. The company announced its 2013 season on Aug. 9.
Now and Forever, The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber will launch the season Jan. 16-March 24, 2013. "The Marriott Theatre has been given the honor of creating this premiere presentation," according the the company run by Terry James (executive producer), Andy Hite (artistic director) and Aaron Thielen (artistic director). Expect highlights from Evita, Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph…, Starlight Express, Sunset Boulevard, The Phantom of the Opera and Love Never Dies.
Rodgers & Hammerstein's South Pacific will follow April 3-June 2, 2013, followed by I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change June 5-Aug. 11, 2013; and Dolly Parton's 9 to 5: The Musical Aug. 14-Oct. 20, 2013.

Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
