Andrew Rannells Will Return to HBO's "Girls" for Third (and Possibly Fourth) Season
29 Oct 2013
Andrew Rannells, a Tony nominee for his performance in the Tony-winning Book of Mormon, will reprise his role as Hannah's (Lena Dunham) gay ex-boyfriend Elijah on the upcoming third season of the hit HBO series "Girls," according to Deadline.com.
Rannells, who was seen last season in the now-canceled NBC comedy "The New Normal," is scheduled to become a series regular should "Girls" be picked up for a fourth season.
"Girls" will return for its third season on the cable network Jan. 12, 2014, at 9 PM ET; check local listings. In addition to Dunham, the cast also features Jemima Kirke, Allison Williams, Zosia Mamet, Adam Driver and Alex Karpovsky.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
