Ann Harada Will Be Special Guest Star at Gay Men's Chorus' Harmony Concert
28 Dec 2010
Ann Harada, who created the role of Christmas Eve in the Tony-winning musical Avenue Q, will be the special guest star at the New York City Gay Men's Chorus' Feb. 28, 2011, concert.
Entitled Harmony, the 6:30 PM event is subtitled "A musical gala benefiting the New York City Gay Men's Chorus & Youth Pride Chorus Promoting Equality Through the Power of Song."
Joining Harada at Christie's (20 Rockefeller Plaza) will be members of the NYCGMC, Youth Pride Chorus and Jacqueline Jonée. The evening will also include a live auction by a Christie's auctioneer and a special appearance by Ermine Muff.
Harada has also been seen on Broadway in 9 to 5, Les Misérables, Seussical and M. Butterfly.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
