Tony Award-winning actor, director and choreographer Tommy Tune will receive the Julie Harris Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual Tony Awards Party in Los Angeles.
Presented by the Actors' Fund of America, the annual Tony bash will be held June 15 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. Stage and screen star Florence Henderson — of "The Brady Bunch" fame — will host the event.
The festivities begin at 3:30 PM with cocktails and a silent auction, followed by dinner and the live Tony telecast from 5-8 PM. The presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award will immediately follow. Previous recipients of the Julie Harris Award include Jerry Herman, Julie Harris, Gwen Verdon, Charles Durning, Rita Moreno, James Earl Jones, Tyne Daly, Lauren Bacall, Carol Channing, Stockard Channing and Liza Minnelli.
Tickets for the 12th Annual Tony Awards Party, priced $200, are available by calling (323) 933-9244, ext. 54. The Skirball Cultural Center is located at 2701 North Sepulveda Blvd in Los Angeles, CA.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
