Another Finalist Eliminated on "American Idol"; Six Contestants Remain
18 Apr 2014
Six contestants now remain on the Fox singing competition "American Idol XIII."
Dexter Roberts was eliminated during the April 17 broadcast after he received the fewest votes. From Fayette, AL, the 22-year-old sang “Muckalee Creek Water” on the April 16 performance show.
The competition will continue April 23 at 8 PM ET when the Top Six – C.J. Harris, Jena Irene, Caleb Johnson, Jessica Meuse, Alex Preston and Sam Woolf – get a little bit country and a little bit rock and roll as they perform two songs each, one country and one rock.
The next elimination show will air April 24 at 9 PM ET.
"American Idol XIII" is produced by FremantleMedia North America and 19 Entertainment, a division of CORE Media Group. The series was created by Simon Fuller and is executive-produced by Simon Fuller, Cecile Frot-Coutaz, Trish Kinane, Per Blankens, Jesse Ignjatovic and Evan Prager. Louis J. Horvitz is director, and Rickey Minor is musical director.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
