Anthony Warlow and Faith Prince Will Offer Australian Concert Tour
18 Feb 2014
Anthony Warlow and Tony Award winner Faith Prince, who appeared together in the Broadway revival of Annie, will unite for an Australian concert tour beginning in June.
Warlow and Prince will first perform Direct from Broadway June 10 as part of the Adelaide Cabaret Festival. The concert, which will feature a 30-piece orchestra, will also play Perth (June 14), Melbourne (June 20-21), Sydney (June 27-28) and Brisbane (July 4-5).
John Frost and Phil Bathols produce the concert that promises "music from some of musical theatre's greatest productions, including My Fair Lady, Annie, Fiddler on the Roof, Sweeney Todd, Guys and Dolls and Man of La Mancha."
Warlow made his Broadway debut as Daddy Warbucks in the 2012 revival of Annie. He earned a Drama Desk Award nomination for his work. Prince, a Tony Award winner for Guys and Dolls, took over the role of Miss Hannigan during the musical's run.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
