01 Jul 2014
A movie musical based on the music of the Beach Boys, titled "All Summer Long — A Beach Boys Musical," has been selected among the screen projects eligible for California's TV Film and Television Tax Credit Program.
It was previously reported that Craig Zadan, Neil Meron and actor John Stamos were attached to bring the Beach Boys musical to the screen for Fox 2000. Zadan and Meron's Storyline Entertainment bills the work as "a romantic summer musical utilizing the Beach Boys song catalogue."
The project continues its development for the screen, with the feature film finding a place on CA's TV Film and Television Tax Credit Program list of conditionally approved projects, according to Variety.
The 26 projects were selected via a lottery that included a record-breaking 467 applicants.
